Safeguarding: Introduction covers the foundations for children, young people and adults at risk of harm. Through short videos, flashcards and quick checks, you’ll learn the key terms, categories of abuse, and be able to confidently handle allegations and disclosures.
You’ll explore how to:
Apply the safeguarding guidance to children, young people, and adults at risk of harm in everyday contexts.
Identify who is protected in law and use appropriate terminology.
Recognise the main categories of abuse and common indicators.
Respond to allegations, disclosures and concerns calmly and correctly.
Use your organisation’s policy, procedures and code of conduct in day-to-day work.
Locate and work with your Designated Safeguarding Lead or Officer (DSL/DSO).
